A mere few yards further along the High Street you find yourself outside the Abbey Door. Founded in the mid 1100's, this was a destination for huge numbers of people through centuries so distant that we can hardly imagine their lives and the passage of time. Yet here are many of those original buldings that our ancestors knew and touched. Turn right to access a single page showing the Abbey ruins, or straight on to reach the Anglican Shrine. However, you can't yet see the Abbey ruins tour as the photos and pages are still being processed: they will be on-line shortly, soon followed by the summer tour photos.
